Compact
The North Yorkshire Compact is a written agreement between the voluntary and community Sector and the public sector detailing how they will work together for the benefit of communities.
More than that, it is a way of working - setting out shared values, principles and commitments made to each other to improve the way we all work together, consult and make decisions.
What does the Compact consist of?
There is an overarching statement, which sets out the principles, undertakings and commitments to work together for mutual advantage. This is underpinned by specific codes of practice on key areas of collaboration. Five codes of practice have been agreed to date:
- Information and communication
- Consultation
- Funding
- Volunteering
- Black and minority ethnic groups
The Compact and the codes of practice can be downloaded from the Related Media section.
