Learning disability partnership board
In January 2011, a new learning disability partnership board was launched in North Yorkshire, replacing the previous area boards. North Yorkshire County Council is the lead authority for the board.
These web pages replace the websites for the previous area learning disability partnership boards. It is also a key indicator of the Government's 'Valuing People Now' strategy that we produce relevant, current and accessible information for people with learning disabilities and their family carers.

Local area groups
In order to cover an area the size of North Yorkshire more effectively we have set up four local area groups. These groups bring together local people to look at what is happening in the areas in which they live and with the services that they use. Finding a home and support services
See the finding a home and support services page for information about people with learning disabilities finding a home or getting more support in their current homes. There is also information about using Telecare services, including some case studies of how some people with learning disabilities have been helped by using Telecare.
North Yorkshire's vision for adult social care
We are making some changes to how adult social care is delivered in North Yorkshire. We believe these changes will benefit people who currently access adult social care and those who will do so in the future. We have organised these changes into an overall vision for adult social care.
Health and wellbeing
North Yorkshire County Council is in the early stages of adopting the health and wellbeing agenda for North Yorkshire. We are also creating a health and wellbeing board to oversee this role. The board will ensure that the Council and other health services, like the NHS, will work together to look after people's health and social care needs in North Yorkshire.
